Caisse Prepped for BNS 100 at Thompson
Pelham, NH: This weekend Sean Caisse of Pelham, NH will join the NASCAR
Busch North Series at Thompson International Speedway when the New
England Dodge Dealers Association presents the Twin 100s. The event will feature
100-lap main events for both the Busch North Series and their sister division
the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
At long last, Caisse will finally be able to make his debut in the
Series for long-time competitor turned car owner Barney McRae. This
will be the first race of the 2005 season for the Busch North competitors
after
weather stalled several attempts at the opener at Lee USA Speedway
last month.
Caisse, who ran several races in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at
Thompson in 2004 in the Sunoco Modified division, is excited about his return
to Thompson on Sunday, June 12, 2005.
"I really love this place, said Caisse. As a racer you can get up on
the
wheel and race here. With the banking in the corners and the long
straight-aways, Thompson is fast and fun."
Not to mention that Thompson International Speedway
is the site of Caisses
first-ever Bud Pole Award. On August 29, 2004, at the age of 18,
while
competing on the Modified Tour, Caisse became one of the youngest
drivers to ever
earn a Pole Award in NASCAR touring series competition by recording
the
fastest lap in qualifying for the Dodge Dealers Bud 150.
"The Bud Pole at Thompson has got to be one of the highlights
of my career,"
said Caisse.
Caisse looks to add another accomplishment to his resume at the Thompson,
CT
oval. In preparation, Caisse joined several Busch North teams last
Friday
for a test session at Thompson. The young driver consistently ran
laps at
the top of the speed chart.
"This was a very productive session for us," said the Rookie Caisse.
"Our first goal was to get me more seat time in the car. I felt comfortable
pretty quickly so then we went out and tried several things. The crew made
adjustments on the car all day and we were all very happy with the
results. Barney
has given me an excellent car for this weekend."
This Sunday at Thompson International Speedway, Trik Sleds of Lowell,
MA
will once again be on board to lend financial support to the McRae
team. Trik
Custom Sleds is the first east coast company to specialize in custom
snowmobiles for the sport of trail riding. Visit www.triksleds.com
for more
information.
Thompson will open pit gates for competitors at 9 AM this Sunday,
June 12,
2005 while the general admission grandstands will open at 10 AM.
Practice is
scheduled to begin at 12 Noon and qualifying gets underway at 3:15.
Feature
events for the Thompson NASCAR Weekly Racing Series divisions will
immediately
follow qualifying.
The Busch North main event is scheduled to go off at approximately
8:45 PM.
The event will be broadcast live nationally in high definition on
HDNet.
An enhanced replay will be aired on SPEED Channel on Friday, July
1, at 4:00
p.m.
