Tickets Now On Sale for R.A.C. Jerry
Nadeau Poker Challenge & Cruise Westbrook, CT: A tradition continues this September when the Racing Against CancerTM Team hosts the Fourth Annual Casino Night on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. This year the event has some additional flare as Nextel Cup driver Jerry Nadeau will be the master of ceremonies for the "Jerry Nadeau Poker Challenge and Cruise" presented by Sugar Hill Speedway and the Racing Against CancerTM Team. The dining and entertainment experience aboard the Mount Washington will also feature a Texas Hold'em Tournament.
It will be a star-studded affair as joining Guest of Honor Jerry Nadeau will be notable racers like Busch North Series champions Andy Santerre, Mike Stefanik, Brad Leighton, Dave Dion, and Mike Olsen along with fellow competitors Eddie MacDonald, Sean Caisse, and Barney McRae. True Value Modified racing sensation Kirk Alexander and Andy Seuss will also make special guest appearances. Many drivers will be available to sign autographs and pose for photos throughout the evening.
Tickets for the cruise are available for a $40.00 donation for adults and $30.00 for children age 12 and under. The price of admission includes a three-hour cruise on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, an All-You-Can-Eat Dinner Buffet and entertainment. During the evening, some lucky winners will receive raffle prizes from the Racing Against Cancer TM team and various event sponsors. The cost to participate in the NO-LIMIT Texas Hold'em poker tournament will be $100 and includes the cruise, buffet, all applicable entry fees, and $1,500 in non-value chips (for use in the tournament only). Seating is limited for the poker challenge. Those interested are urged to act quickly. The cruise will run from 6:30-9:30 PM with boarding beginning at 6:00 P.M. The tournament will run from approximately 6:45 to 9:15 PM.
All proceeds from the event will benefit David’s House, a haven for terminally ill children and their families near the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. Dick & Gerry Cyr, inspired by their young son David, who died of acute lymphocytic leukemia in 1984, created David's House so that parents and children alike would have a quality home-like atmosphere during their time of need. " The Jerry Nadeau Poker Challenge" will consist of 11 tables of eight players each for a total of 88 players. Each table will have at least one celebrity racecar driver at the start of the tournament. Non-celebrity seating will be done by lottery at the time of check-in.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-eight finishers including first prize of $1,250 and an overnight stay at Foxwoods Resort Casino, valued at $375.
