Rain Foils Top Finish for Caisse at NHIS

Loudon, NH: Sean Caisse of Pelham, NH came away from the Sylvania 125 at New Hampshire International Speedway for the NASCAR Grand National Busch North Series with a sense of satisfaction. On Friday afternoon the young driver ran inside the top five much of the day and raced fender-to-fender with the series veterans. What turned out to be an ill-fated pit stop negated a top-five finish for Caisse, who finished off the day in the 21st position.

"My crew gave me a great race car. It worked well all day," said Caisse. "Near the end of the race the car got real tight. We talked about pitting and finally decided to come in at the caution at lap 109. It turned out that we had a tire going down. Ultimately it would have been a good decision if the race had gone back to green."

With two fresh right-side tires, Caisse was poised to make a run back to the front over the last twenty laps. Unfortunately Caisse never got the opportunity. The rain got more persistent and the race never went back to green.

"As much as I hate finishing 21st, I know we had something for them today," continued Caisse. "It was the best 107 laps I have run all year. You can’t be too disappointed with that."

After Bud Pole qualifying was rained out on Thursday, the starting grid was set by point standings putting Caisse tenth in the line-up. Within twenty laps had Caisse worked his way into the fifth position. By lap 69, Caisse ran in second behind leader Brad Leighton.

He would spend the final phase of the race battling with Leighton, point leader Andy Santerre, Ryan Moore, and eventual winner Ted Christopher.

"We swapped position back and forth, we bumped drafted, we raced hard but clean," said Caisse with a wide grin. "It was a fun race and it was a great experience for me to run hard with guys like Leighton, Santerre, Moore and Christopher."

The Sylvania 125 was also the debut of new sponsor Casella Waste Services on the #5 for Motion Racing. "Casella Waste Services provides integrated waste management solutions crucial to public health in a unique collection of communities throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire." "We hope that this is the start of a great relationship," continued Caisse. "The goal is to develop a sponsorship program with Casella Waste Services that will tie in racing with customer relations and community projects."

Also joining the Motion Racing Family of sponsors was associate sponsor R.C.D. Racing Apparel and Safety equipment. The start-up business will feature both retail and Internet sales of a wide variety of racing gear. Owner Rock Dubois anticipates the opening of the retail location in Brookline, NH for November. R.C.D. is expected to remain with Caisse and company for the remainder of the 2005 season.

Earlier in the week Caisse participated in the Fourth Annual Racing Against Cancer TM Casino Night. Caisse joined several of his fellow Busch North Series competitors in the "Jerry Nadeau Poker Challenge and Cruise", a fundraiser for the Racing Against Cancer Team TM Program. Caisse also signed autographs and met with fans of all ages as part of the event that was held aboard the Mount Washington cruise ship on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. Proceeds from the event benefited David’s House, a haven for terminally ill children and their families near the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.

Caisse is a long-time supporter of the Racing Against Cancer TM Program. His involvement dates back to his go-kart racing days at Sugar Hill Speedway in Weare, NH.

The NASCAR Grand National Busch North Series moves on to another mile racetrack next week with their annual visit to Dover International Speedway in Dover, DE for the running of the MBNA RacePoints 150 on September 23, 2005.

Caisse is looking forward to his first-ever start at the "Monster Mile".

"I am very excited to race at the Dover," said Caisse. "I like gaining new experiences and my first starts at different race tracks have been really good for me this year. Not to mention the place is very fast!"
