Caisse locks up second straight win

STAFFORD SPRINGS — Sean Caisse took advantage of a red flag situation and a late-race restart to notch Friday’s 150-lap Busch East Series race at Stafford Speedway . The triumph was Caisse’s second straight, as he won the series opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway (S.C.) last week.

Caisse was second behind leader Matt Kobyluck when the race was red-flagged to a halt on lap 134 due to a Turn 1 incident. After a 22-minute delay to clean the track, Caisse wrested the lead from Kobyluck on Lap 139 and held him at bay to win by a margin of 0.608 seconds. Mike Olsen was third, followed by Dave Dion and Jody Lavender.

Caisse, who’s from Pelham, N.H., admitted that Kobyluck looked as though he had the race in his pocket, before the final restart.
