Gears Up for 5th Annual NASCAR Stop
New Bremen,
N.Y. - For the fifth time in the track's six year existence, the
NASCAR Busch East Series will return to the Adirondack
International Speedway this coming July 29th, 2006. As track
officials and staff are finishing up last minute preparations for
the much anticipated event, race teams have already spent hours on
the track surface testing for this coming weekend. The rising
stars of the Busch East Series will run a one day show on the
29th, from time trials all the way up to the main event in the "Edge Hotel 150, presented by Casella Waste Systems". A Busch
East driver's meet-and-greet session will also play a part in
the day's festivities. Adding to the racecard for Saturday will
be the Lowville New Car Dealers ASA Late Models competing in a
50-lap event. The tracks weekly headline division, will provide
the icing on the cake as they are known to put on a fantastic show
each week at AIS.
However,
the Busch East Series stop plays just a part of the two day race
weekend. On Friday the 28th, TrailBlazers Cafe & Sporting
Goods of Deer River will present the USAC Ford Focus Series which
will compete for the first time at AIS in 2006, with regular
divisions of the Westward Painting Company Lite Trucks, Lyndaker
Excavating True Stocks, and the D&D Powersports Sport Compacts
in competition. The night will be held in memory of former AIS
friend, Art Matuszczak.
Busch
East Series point leader, Mike Olsen, as well as Series hot
shoe's such as Matt Kobyluck, Brian Hoar, and Bryon Chew have
visited the speedway to turn informational practice laps in
preparation for the event. Chew was noted as the quickest car
taking time out of all of the competitors.
It
all will begin this Friday, July 28th. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
with racing set to begin at 7 p.m. The speedway is located along
Artz Road in New Bremen, N.Y. Easily accessible from State Route
